I have started to share my journal pages, which up until recently have been private. What I am about to show you next is my secret love of drawing people. I am sure there are many more drawings hanging around on scraps of paper or in other journals tucked away in cupboards because I turn my hand to this if I’m uncertain of what to do next. It’s more important to be doing something creative rather than thinking about doing something.
I don’t use these as starting points for paintings ever. They are a form of relaxation. They are an opportunity to practise looking and noticing. They are about pure and simple pleasure.
It feels right to share them with you now…it’s almost as if revealing more will allow me to boldly walk through the artists’ world with confidence.
